Government Affairs

The AAF protects and promotes advertising at all levels of government through grassroots activities.

Our nationwide network monitors advertising-related legislation on local, state and federal levels. We put our members face to face with influential lawmakers. We also encourage industry self-regulation to preempt to government intervention, when appropriate.

Active Mission

Each year before and during the Florida Legislative Session the American Advertising Federation Forth District and the AAF Space Coast review proposed legislation that may affect the advertising industry. The Government Relations Chairman is responsible for that review and coordination with the membership prior to the legislative session and for presenting the AAF Fourth District’s position on proposed legislation to the Senators and Representatives from Brevard County, and often other Senators and Representatives in Tallahassee. This is done through letters, emails, phone calls and personal meetings in both Brevard and Tallahassee.

If there are any issues important to the advertising industry that either should be changed in State law or proposed legislation that affects the advertising industry let your position be known to the AAF Space Coast’s Government Relations Chairman.
